Great volunteer opportunities!
We are looking for enthusiastic corporate, community, group or individual volunteers to help with several of our upcoming events – please help us spread the word!
2006 New York City Regional Bowling Tournament
We need help with set up, registration, lunch, athlete escorts, cheering and handing out medals and awards.
Where:
AMF 34th Avenue Lanes
69-10 34th Avenue
Woodside, Queens
What:
A fun day of bowling competition between all five boroughs in New York City. The entire event will be held in the tradition of Olympic-style pageantry and ceremony.
When: Saturday, October 28, 2006
Time: 10:00am-3:30pm
No bowling experience necessary
2006 Bowlathon to benefit Special Olympics New York – New York City Region
We need help with set up, lunch, athlete escorts, cheering and handing out medals and awards.

Manhattan
What:
A fun, fundraising day when Special Olympics and their fans bowl to benefit Special Olympics.
When: Sunday, October 29, 2006

2006 Miles for Medals Walk – Halloween Theme!
We need walkers and donors!! And we need volunteer help with set up, registration of walkers, passing out candy and cheering. If you can’t make it out to Staten Island on Sunday we also need people to spread the word about this event and recruit participants.

Safe Halloween fun for the whole family!
Get your costume ready! Get family and friends to sponsor you! Ask your friends, family and co-workers to help you raise funds for Special Olympics athletes. Collect donations prior to walk day. Put your costumes on and come to Clove Lakes Park on Sunday, October 29th! Bring your family and friends! Trick or Treat! A fun day of bowling competition when Special Olympics athletes from Manhattan showcase their skills.
When: Sunday, November 19, 2006
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

2007 Peter Aquilone Memorial Floor Hockey Tournament
We need help with set up, lunch, athlete escorts, Olympic Village, score keeping, timing, breakdown, general information, registration, cheering and handing out medals and awards.
Where:
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
11th Avenue (between 34th and 39th Street)
Manhattan
What:
A Special Olympics Sectional Competition consisting of Floor Hockey Team and individual skills competitions. The entire event will be held in the tradition of Olympic-style pageantry, ceremonies, and participation. Over 500 Special Olympics athletes will be participating in team and skills competition. Athletes will represent the five boroughs, Long Island and Hudson Valley. Athletes from Special Olympics Connecticut and Special Olympics Pennsylvania will also be invited.
When: Saturday, January 13, 2007
Time: 8:30am – 4:00pm
No floor hockey experience necessary
