Extra! Extra! Read All About It! As you know our Metro Tournament is coming up and we are lucky to have a volunteer on board who will be pitching our story to the media to generate some interest and awareness about Special Olympics. The media loves to personalize stories so we are looking for athletes, coaches and/or volunteers who: 1) Have a great story to tell, and 2) Would be willing to share their story with the media, and ultimately, the general public We, of course, know that ALL of our athletes have great stories to share by virtue of being involved with Special Olympics. But the media will be looking for something that really stands out. Perhaps they've overcome extraordinary challenges, or their story has some other interesting twist. If you think you know of someone who fits the bill, please send a brief description via email to Jamie DePasquale at jdepasquale@nyso.org. Or, you can fax the information to (212) 661-4658. Please keep in mind that just because you suggest someone does not necessarily mean that they will be chosen. Our media volunteer will help make the determination based a number of factors and we won't be able to include everyone. Thank you very much! Summer Sports Training Schedules Needed! COACHES: Please submit your training schedules to Colleen Everett at ceverett@nyso.org as soon as possible. We are compiling a list of trainings to distribute to other coaches, families, and athletes. Thanks!
