Special Olympics Floor Hockey Tournament on CBS Early Show THIS FRIDAY!

We have the opportunity to gather a group of athletes and coaches for a window segment at the CBS Early Show to highlight the Peter Aquilone Memorial Floor Hockey Tournament.
They'd love for us to bring a minimum of 30 people but we can bring as many folks as we'd like.

Date:    Friday, January 9, 2009

Time:    7:30 arrival for segments that will take place at 8:00am and 8:30am

Place:    CBS Early Show Plaza
    767 Fifth Ave
    5th Avenue and 59th Streets

When the CBS Early Show anchors and weatherman come outside, they will come and speak to us and we'll help the crowd cheer them on.
Athletes and coaches, please be sure to wear Special Olympics attire.
Jamie DePasquale of the New York City Region staff will be the point person at the Early Show.

Following the window segments, there will be a tour of CBS Studios for those who want to participate.

If you would like to be a part of this exciting morning, please let us know as soon as possible so we can confirm with CBS and let them know how many people we'll be bringing with us.

Special Olympics New York LETR Program Grows to $1 Million

It is our privilege to announce for the first time in history the New York LETR initiative has become a $1 million program!  In the 2008 calendar year, every T-shirt sold, Torch Runner sponsored and plunge team making a splash put us one step closer to reaching our long-time goal of being a $1 million program.  We are thrilled that the New York City Region helped achieve this goal with the re-introduction of the Metro Torch Run.   Thank you!  We look forward to growing this grassroots initiative and even greater success in 2009.
